Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope this finds you well and adjusting to the 2020-2021 school year.  This year certainly finds us experiencing issues like none before.  The students are adjusting to this "new normal",  and while we would love to have ALL students here everyday, we must wait for certain COVID-19 restrictions to be lifted.
I realize there are many questions surrounding this new way of schooling.    While parents have opted for either Hybrid or Virtual Instruction,  teaching and learning MUST take place daily.  If your child is not physically in the building, work should be taking place outside of the classroom.  It is imperative for the student's success that you work together with the teachers to reinforce that children check in DAILY.  If your child's teacher has contacted you via google classroom or another platform such as class dojo or the remind app, to let you know work/materials are available for pick up, they will be here Thursday and Friday at the school.  If this is not feasible for pick up, call us, we can make alternate arrangements.  I know we are facing some very difficult times, and we all need to remember the student's educational, social and emotional needs are paramount.

                                          "We Can, We Will!!"

Respectfully,

Kristine LoCascio
Principal

September 2020

Welcome back to school!!!   Who would have thought those four words would mean so much!  I hope everyone is getting situated with either their choice of virtual learning or hybrid learning.

Virtual:  Student are instructed via google classroom only.
Hybrid: Students come to school two days a week
Cohort A:  Monday~ Wednesday
Cohort B:  Tuesday ~ Thursday
All students are learning via google classroom on Fridays.

The students have transitioned back to the school building with ease.  They are naturals  at following the social distancing mandates while wearing masks.  While it may seem  different not seeing so many of your children roaming the hallways, this allows for a safe return, and hopefully a full schedule moving forward.

While there have been a few questions along the way, students, parents and teachers are settling in to what I hope will be a fantastic school year!
A few notes:

If your child is  100%  Virtual, please be sure to pick up material which will assist with their daily work.  They are available at the school  between 11-2.  Please have available the name of your child's teacher.

As always, and now more than ever, it is important to communicate with your child's classroom teacher.  Some ways to reach us:  email, a phone call, the agenda book or call the front office and we will be sure to pass along this message.
A gentle reminder, instruction is going on throughout the day.  Teachers will get back to you at their earliest convenience.

We are doing our very best to ensure a safe, clean, disinfected learning environment
for everyone who walks our hallways.
Please remember to :
Wash hands
Wear a mask
Stay 6 feet apart
If you feel sick, stay home and seek medical guidance for any continued concerns.
